Flashing Lights at Night: The Miraculous Story of a Child’s Recovery from a Traumatic Brain Injury tells the true story of an eleven-year old boy and his family, when their Christmas visit to Grandma’s house goes sideways. Available by contacting me on Facebook or the Contact Me page on this site.

Mousa From Nowhere is a children’s book about a refugee boy who adjusts to life in his new country. It will compliment Alia’s Voice and will explore how children adjust to the upheaval of arriving in a new country. Watch for it in late 2025.

Also in progress: My Window on Africa by Connie Smith and Ann McRae. This is just a working title, and there is no cover art yet. At a young nurse, Connie, an Anglo-Quebecer, chose life in Goma, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the shadow of an active volcano, with the risks of Ebola, an ongoing civil war and a culture very different from her origins. She’s very happy there. Find out what was behind her remarkable choices. Coming in late 2026 or maybe a bit later.

Lifeboats for All: Jo Grey’s Lifetime of Social Justice Advocacy (also just a working title) describes a Toronto woman who has championed Basic Income (among many other issues about food security and income inequality). Jo is feisty, entertaining and determined, and proves that one person CAN make a difference. She challenges the standard dismissal of the issues affecting the poor. She asks,”how will a rising tide lifting all boats help those who have no boat?”
